Quick update on Ravelry… now I’m a Yarnie.  For those on Ravelry, here’s me  http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/brands/thepaintedsheep

Going to bed now… big day tomorrow!

I’m on! Got my invite today! I’m thepaintedsheep. Of course! I played a little, added a couple of my yarns and found a few of my local SnB buddies. I really, really want to play on it tonight but I had to drag myself away… Something big going on tomorrow morning that I’m dyeing to spill but I can’t. Not yet… hopefully soon.   Much to do before tomorrow, like studying up on Social Security.  Got you wondering, huh?  Ravelry waits until the weekend!

BTW, big, big weekend of dyeing coming up. Pictures to come!

As in Ev’s walking on two feet!  He saw the doctor today, who cleared him to start rehab of his foot.  He’s walking around on his foot with support from his crutches and the air cast.  He can ditch the crutches as soon as he feels ready – probably in a few days or so.  Needs to build up some strength and feel a little more steady first.  The air cast goes soon, after he starts PT.  Hoping to get that going early next week – or sooner if he can get in.   PT will probably be for 3 weeks or so, but during that time he’ll get to where he’s fully mobile again.  Horray for Ev!!!  Pretty soon we’ll get to take all those walks we talked about!

I saw this on Jenny’s blog and thought it would be fun to play along! Feel free to steal it and do the same.

Happy Knitting!

What wonderful news I received today! My Ashford wheel has sold to a wonderful person in Missouri, named Cathy. Admittedly, I had many reasons to sell this wheel but I was having trouble parting with it. I have an attachment to my spinning wheels – we have some history together and many fond memories. I know some people buy and sell their wheels and have many over the years. I see mine as something special, that I cherish. The thought of parting with my first wheel, even though I wasn’t using it, was tough. Cathy almost immediately asked me to note on the bottom of the wheel my name, location and date that I had it. She wants to know my story with the wheel. She recognizes the history and connection that we have with our wheels – I’m so thrilled to have stumbled upon someone with the same mindset as my own. It makes me happy to know that my wheel is going to someone who will cherish it.

I’m off to spin on her for the last time before I disassemble her and pack her up to go to her lovely new home… Cathy, may you have many happy memories with her!

This blog isn’t the only thing with a new look this weekend!  I got brave yesterday and finally cut my hair – off.  I love it!  Its the shortest its been in years – right around my chin.  Seven or eight inches went – not that anyone would really know that, since my hair was perpetually in a pony tail.  Even I was sick of that look – too easy to be lazy and not fuss with it.  Figured the only way to really avoid it was to go so short that I can’t put it up!  I love the new style – short, simple and easy enough that I don’t have to worry about constant haircuts – it can grow a bit and look fine (so long as I can’t get it into a pony tail!).

Pre-hair appointment yesterday, I made it out to Mocha’s Fiber Connection in Colchester, CT.  Great new shop, with both yarn and fiber.  They seem to be off to a great start, with yarn and fiber doing well.  The Painted Sheep may have a few things there in the future!  It was nice to see that the spinning fiber and needle felting is doing well there – there was a drop spindle class going on and the owner said that people are really interested in needle felting.  The location is nice too – Colchester Mills Fabric and Colchester Bakery are right down the street.  I remember going to the bakery as a child – they had the best rye bread and eclairs that are to die for…  The bakery was closed but I did run into Colchester Mills – picked up the cords that I need to finish up the Knitty Bagstopper.  Now if I can squeeze in some knitting time today…

Unfortunately, no time in the dye studio this weekend.  I find it best to spent a whole day in there, getting a lot done.  Everything else I had to catch up on just didn’t allow for it.  I’m thinking that I’ll take advantage of the 3 day Labor Day weekend to get a lot done.  I do plan on posting more eBay auctions later this afternoon.  Lots more destashing to come!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
