I’ve just completed another Etsy update, with all of the rovings that I dyed up yesterday. There’s alpaca/merino/silk roving, merino superwash and lots of BFL. Included in this update is another new colorway for Spring. There’s now 4 new ones, shown here in BFL roving Spring 08 Colorways

L-R: Playful, Spring, Larkspur and Birch Mountain I’ll be dyeing up these colorways in yarn, as well as more fiber selections this weekend.

As you poke around the Etsy shop, you might notice a difference in how my rovings are put up. The newer rovings look smaller – especially the BFL. I haven’t changed the weight – they are all still 4 ounces, unless I’ve specified otherwise. What I have done is taken more time to pre-draft my rovings a bit before I package them up. The reason is simple – they look better! They’re also easier to spin as I’ve fluffed them up after dyeing. The rovings compact more when I twist them for packaging – making them look smaller and neater (and easier to store!).

There will be much, much more to come in the next few weeks. The warmer weather and longer daylight hours have me inspired and anxious to get into the dye studio every weekend. I have tons of sock yarn, alpaca handpaint, merino/tencel rovings and even more BFL to dye up!
