Blocking

I finished the knitting on my Sweet Pea Coat this afternoon and promptly pulled out my blocking board, iron and a wet towel and set to work to block it.  I was reminded of how wonderful a good blocking is.  Check out the before and after. Unblocked back

Blocked back and fronts

Freshly steamed and pressed, the fabric relaxed and softened up, the edges uncurled and the stitches evened out.  The finished fabric is amazing.

I spent tonight sewing the pocket linings in place.  Tomorrow, I hope to seam it, knit the collar and add those fabulous buttons from Moving Mud.  Pictures to come!
